Program overview
Rigorous. Relevant. Relationships. Rewarding.
If you are a leader in the Emergency, Surgical or Critical Care/ICU Service Lines looking for a chance to increase your leadership skills with aspirations to move into a Director position, this Program is for you. The Director Development Program (DDP) is an enterprise-wide 7-10 month rigorous, relevant and rewarding integrative learning experience, with proven results. After completing the Director Development Program, you'll have the ability to lead, identify and develop solutions to improve department operations utilizing personal, operational, team and strategic leadership.
DDP participants, referred to as Associate Directors, have an opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills through hands-on application and assignments in an assigned host facility within their Market/Division. DDP Associates will assume increasing leadership responsibilities while working in their host facility. In addition, they lead an important facility change project where they create a plan, implement, track and report on the results of the change to then present to peers and HCA Executive and facility leaders. Upon graduation, Associates receive assistance in landing an ED/SS/Critical Care/ICU Director position in an HCA Healthcare facility.
Mobility/relocation, while not a requirement to be selected, does allow for greater placement opportunity upon completion.
In order to be considered for the Director Development Program, we ask that you have met the following minimum criteria.
