Nursing News Now: 2022 nursing strategy
Sammie S. Mosier, DHA, MA, BSN, NE-BC
Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive
As we begin another year facing COVID surges in many of our markets, please allow me to say thank you for the great work you continue to do to provide compassionate care for our patients.
Your unparalleled resilience, strength and commitment raise the bar in nursing excellence and are a driving force helping us navigate these uncertain times.
Throughout the last few years, you’ve shared thoughts and feedback on ways we can continue to improve processes to help you deliver excellent care. We’ve listened to your suggestions and have developed a refined nursing framework with them in mind.
As you will notice, the framework has four key areas of focus: advocacy and leadership, staffing and care team support, education and academic partnerships and professional practice. Staffing and Care Team Support is our most immediate focus area. I am excited to work with our facilities to enable nurses to practice at the top of their license, maximize technology and learn new ways to provide safe, world-class care for our patients.
The graphic below outlines HCA Healthcare’s 2022 Nursing Strategy, and I encourage you to take a moment to click on and read through each pillar. I celebrate you as we move forward together to elevate the practice of nursing.
