Health Workforce Well-Being Day of Awareness Research by the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation shows that many healthcare professionals refrain from pursuing necessary mental health treatment due to intrusive and stigmatizing language in applications and questionnaires. Colleagues should never feel that pursuing mental health-related treatment would put their careers at risk. Compliance with standards established by the foundation has earned HCA Healthcare recognition by the ALL IN: Wellbeing First for Healthcare coalition as a Wellbeing First Champion for 2024. U.S. Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Roger Marshall (R-KS) introduced a bipartisan resolution designating March 18 as Health Workforce Well-Being Day of Awareness. The date was selected to coincide with the day that the senator’s bipartisan Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Act was signed into law by President Biden in 2022.
