Congratulations to HCA Healthcare colleagues Jessica Barbee of Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, California (Far West Division), as well as Pam Arnold, Lisette Cruz, Morgan Freitag, Terri Lynn-Collins and Jerry Morgan, Jr., from Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri (MidAmerica Division) on submitting the inaugural corporate-level winning Evidence-based Project (EBP) presentations.

As a component of the HCA Healthcare Nurse Residency Program, each resident must complete an Evidence-based Project (EBP). Information related to the EBP can be found on the CSG Nursing Corner website.

Each division has a division-level panel that reviews all of the completed projects and assigns a score to each using an approved grading rubric.

The winning EBP presentations included:

  • Jessica Barbee's presentation entitled "Accelerating the Discharge Process."
  • The presentation by Pam Arnold, Lisette Cruz, Morgan Freitag, Terri Lynn-Collins and Jerry Morgan, Jr., entitled "Investigation of the Use of a Standardized Handoff between Nurses."
